And then it started...the wishes of a the first snow day of the year. The assessment of the amount of snow, the road conditions, the wind and possibilities of being able to stay home in your pjs all day were everywhere. Planning the day with TV, sleeping in, eating pancakes for lunch...it sounded so promising.
At bedtime, it got even more intense with snow day hopeful rituals that are critical to turning the first significant snow of the year into a snow day.
1. Lick a spoon and sleep with it under your pillow (and since you are not sure what kind of spoon, you should go searching for plastic, metal, wood..whatever you can find and lick).
2. Put your pjs on inside out and backwards.
3. Put a white crayon in the window. If you have more than one, you better put them all there.
4. Flush icecubes down the toilet. 3 is much better than 1. Why does Jarrred have that look on his face? I have no clue. LOL
No! It was Friday the 13th so Jarred is sure that Jason jinxed it for him. So off to school they went with heads hanging. I gotta admit I was a little disappointed too. I am all for a snow day here and there. It's kinda nice to just sit around and have a pj and pancake day every now and then with your kids that isn't on the weekend. Weekends can get busy with errands and football of course.
But the snow was just beautiful. It was a Winter Wonderland for sure.
